In astrology, Venus rules both Libra and Taurus and while there is some similarity between these two signs, they are very different. Both signs appreciate aesthetics and enjoy things that are pleasing to the senses. Both signs can be a bit lazy or “laid back”, but that’s where the similarities end. 

Libras are peace-loving, intellectual, and detached. They’re also charming and as a result, quite popular. Tauruses are solid, predictable, and have a strong presence. Although Tauruses are usually friendly and well-liked, Libra is much more charming and likely to have a large social circle of people who adore them. Think air versus earth; air is flighty and doesn’t stay in one place whereas earth is solid and stable.

Gwyneth Paltrow is a Libra who exhibits many Libra traits – she comes across as pleasant, comfortable in the spotlight, expressive, and charming (albeit a little nutty sometimes). Adele, on the other hand is a Taurus and she has a strong presence. She is solid, confident, and sensuous. And although Adele seems to be very warm and sensitive, she gives off a vibe that she is not to be messed with. Both women were born under Venus-ruled signs, yet they are very different.

Libras tend toward superficiality – how things look on the surface is very important to them. Libras care about their appearance and put a lot of effort into looking good – it’s no wonder they are considered the beauties of the zodiac. Tauruses are also know for being naturally good-looking, but have a “take me as I am” attitude (which I admire) and may not put as much effort into their appearance or health, for that matter.

Tauruses are dependable and if they make a commitment to you, they stick with it even when others would have been long gone. Libras are not known for sticking with things or people and have a reputation for running away when things get tough. They’re also known for cheating when they’re not happy.

I would trust a Taurus with my life whereas I wouldn’t trust a Libra with anything, really. Yes, Libras are sweet and calm, but not at all trustworthy in my opinion. Libras have a tendency toward being disingenuous (or just downright fake) to get their way, whereas Taurus is straightforward.
